These rubber mounts sit between the engine unit and the handle assembly, absorbing engine vibration so it isn’t transmitted directly into the operator’s hands. As the rubber perishes, stretches, cracks or tears with age and heat, its damping ability weakens, which can make the handle feel loose or excessively vibratory during use and place extra strain on the surrounding mounting points. Fitting a replacement set of AV mounts restores proper vibration isolation between the engine and handle.
