4500 5200 5800 Chainsaw Oil Pump Worm Gear

Oil drive pump worm gear fits 4500, 5200 and 5800 Chinese chainsaws with 45cc, 52cc and 58cc engines, including Plantiflex, BBT, B&Q, Silverline, Kiam Sherwood, Sanli, Rok, Whitemoss, Skatco, Eckman, Timbertech, Tarus, Viron, MT and Trueshopping Raptor and others. The worm gear is mounted on the crankshaft and meshes with the oil pump rotor to drive bar and chain oil through to the guide bar during cutting. On the 4500/5200/5800 platform the worm gear is a known weak point the plastic teeth strip relatively easily under load or if the oil pump seizes, breaking the drive connection entirely. A stripped worm gear is one of the most common causes of a dry guide bar on these saws and should be the first component inspected when oil starvation is diagnosed. Replacing the gear is a low-cost fix that restores full oil pump drive without replacing the pump itself.
