The 362/365/371/372 series was produced across multiple runs and uses more than one oil pump body profile this is the type 2 variant, which differs in housing shape and outlet position from the type 1 pump listed for the same models. Confirm the profile against your old part and the product images before ordering. The oil pump draws bar and chain oil from the oil tank and delivers it continuously to the guide bar groove during cutting. A cracked, seized or worn pump body cuts off chain lubrication, causing the guide bar to run dry, accelerating wear on the bar rails, drive links and sprocket nose. Fitting a replacement restores full oil flow and protects the bar and chain from heat damage.
