HECHT 947 Chainsaw Complete Recoil Starter Assembly

Complete recoil starter fits Hecht 947 and many other chainsaws, replacing part number 947000182. The recoil starter is a self-contained pull-start assembly comprising the starter housing, cord pulley, recoil spring, pull cord and handle, mounted directly to the engine casing. When the pull cord is drawn out, the pawls engage the flywheel to crank the engine, and the internal return spring retracts the cord automatically after each pull. When the recoil mechanism fails — through a broken spring, seized pulley, snapped cord or cracked housing — replacing the complete unit is the most efficient way to restore reliable engine starting without sourcing and replacing individual internal components.
