Chain catcher fits Hecht 947, 957, Makita DCS460, DCS461, DCS500, DCS501, DCS4600, DCS5000, DCS5121, DE5045 and Dolmar PS-460, PS-500, PS-4600, PS-5000 chainsaws. The chain catcher is a fixed metal or plastic lug mounted near the drive sprocket, positioned to catch the chain and stop it whipping toward the operator if it snaps or derails from the bar. When the catcher bends, cracks, or breaks off, it can no longer reliably restrain a failed chain, leaving the operator without this safety protection. Fitting a replacement chain catcher restores this safeguard to its intended working condition.
