Original Tanaka / Hitachi air filter / cleaner fits Tanaka TCS-3401, TCS-3401S and Hitachi CS35EH chainsaws. The air filter sits in the intake tract ahead of the carburettor, trapping dust, wood chips and other debris before air reaches the engine. As the filter clogs, tears or becomes saturated with oil and dirt, airflow into the carburettor is restricted, upsetting the air-fuel mixture and causing symptoms such as loss of power, black smoke or difficulty starting. Replacing the air filter at regular service intervals keeps the intake clear and the engine running at its correct air-fuel ratio.
