STIHL 021 023 025 029 039 MS210 MS230 MS250 MS290 MS390 Anti-Vibration (AV) Mount

Anti-vibration (AV) mount fits Stihl 021, 023, 025, 029, 039, MS210, MS230, MS250, MS290 and MS390 chainsaws. The AV mount is a rubber buffer bonded between metal sleeves, positioned at one of the fixing points between the engine unit and the handle frame. These Stihl models use rubber AV mounts rather than springs the rubber absorbs the cyclic vibration produced by the two-stroke engine and cutting chain, preventing it from passing through the chassis to the operator’s hands. Over time the rubber hardens, cracks or collapses under heat and oil exposure. A failed mount allows direct vibration transfer at that fixing point, increasing handle vibration and accelerating wear on the remaining mounts. Fitting a replacement restores correct isolation and keeps the saw within safe vibration levels.
