PATRIOT BP 41 Chainsaw Chain Catcher

Chain catcher fits Patriot BP 41 and many other chainsaws. The chain catcher is a fixed lug mounted below the guide bar near the clutch drum, designed to catch a chain that has come off or snapped, keeping it from whipping back toward the operator’s hand. When the catcher breaks off or its mounting point cracks, this protection is lost, leaving the hand more exposed if the chain were to fail during use. Fitting a replacement catcher restores this safety feature.
