The cylinder houses the combustion chamber and the bore the piston travels within, while the crankshaft converts the piston’s up-and-down motion into rotational drive; both are typically renewed together when either wears beyond tolerance. When the cylinder bore scores or wears oversize, the piston rings wear thin, or the crankshaft’s bearing journals or seals fail, the engine loses compression and can develop excess play at the crank — showing up as hard starting, reduced power, excess exhaust smoke, or a rough, knocking engine. Fitting this complete kit restores correct compression, piston-to-bore fit, and crankshaft support in one job.
